John R. Sutton Esq.
John R. Sutton, our lead attorney and founder, started our firm with a single-minded mission: Fight for our clients, make sure their rights are protected and that they receive the justice they deserve. Since our inception, our firm has done just that. John R. Sutton is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer in the State of Florida and has been licensed to practice law in the State since 1972. He is also licensed in the Federal Southern District of Florida, Federal Middle District of Florida, US District Court of Louisiana, Fifth, Ninth, and Eleventh Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, The United States Supreme Court and United States Court of Claims. He has also appeared Pro Hac Vice in Georgia, Alabama, California, Central Dist., New York Southern Dist., Arkansas and Iowa. A University of Miami Law School Juris Doctor Graduate, Mr. Sutton’s Litigation Experience is in wide variety of areas: Civil, Criminal, Commercial, Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Family and Multi State Litigation. He has been continuously recognized as a valuable member of the Miami-Dade Community as the recipient of several awards and reorganizations including but not limited to the Attorney General’s “Courage Award” and the Miami Dade County Bar Association: Pro Bono Award. He has also served as a Board Member of the Schepens Eye Research Institute. When he is not practicing law, Mr. Sutton enjoys PADI Advanced Open Water Diving and Skiing.

Michelle M. Urbistondo, Esq.
Michelle Urbistondo, Esq. currently serves as a trusted associate with Sutton Law Group, P.A. She concentrates in the areas of civil litigation and real estate transactions. As a member of TheFund, Mrs. Urbistondo is fully authorized to issue title insurance through Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. She is a graduate of the St. Thomas University School of Law (J.D., 2011) and an alumnus of the Florida International University Honors College (B.A., 2009). While in law school she served as Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review and also was a member of the Moot Court Team where she was recognized as the Best Individual Oral Advocate at the E. Earle Zehmer National Moot Court Competition. Mrs. Urbistondo was consistently on the Dean’s List and graduated with honors in the Top 20% of her class.
Prior to joining Sutton Law Group, Mrs. Urbistondo was an associate for The Law Offices of Patrick L. Cordero, P.A. were she served as the supervising attorney for over 400+ real estate and family law cases. She also served as a clerk for the Honorable Leon Firtel while he was on the bench as a Family Judge in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court. Mrs. Urbistondo currently devotes 100% of her practice to litigation, focusing on the areas of marital and family law matters including divorce, child custody issues, relocation, alimony and child support matters, modification actions, business valuations, paternity disputes and personal injury. Mrs. Urbistondo is licensed to practice in the State of Florida and in Federal Southern District of Florida.
